a trapezoid is defined as :

A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides, called bases. The other sides are legs.

so your question doesn't make sense.

I don't get it- a trapezoid is defined as a quadrilateral having only two sides (opposite, of course) parallel.    If one of the corners is 90 degrees, it is a fact that all the other corners would be 90 degrees as well.




What you say is only true is the quadrlateral has all side of equal lenth. Having one angle be 90° does not mean all the other angles have to be 90° also. 2 sides are parellel not the other 2, if they were we could start to figure out the angles.

No, insufficient information.  However, the minimum that C can be is zero.

So,

D = C + [42^2 - 30^2]^(1/2) = C + 29.4  as someone else already posted above.

Ok here is what I get by rough measuring A=30" B=42" C=77.375" D=47.25"

Does that compute?



C and D can be whatever you want (larger than 0)-   there are no proportions or other info to check them.


but close enough, since 47.25 + 29.4 = 76.65

which if someone was kinda rough on the tape measure would be close enough to 77 3/8 for gubmint work

Yes. For a basic quadrilateral you'll need three measurements to determine #4.

And, FWIW, it's not an Irregular Quadrilateral, it's just a Quadrilateral.

The "shape" does not have a geometrical name.
