So the rice and beans are plain?

What's your recipe for homemade salsa? I used the only green salsa I could find at the grocery store. It was good as hell!

The best tacos I've had were at a little taco shop where I'm often the only caucasian in the joint.

Grilled meat, cilantro, onions and lime wrapped in two white corn tortillas.

Always comes with a generous on-the-side serving of those pickled peppers, carrots and onions you find in some mexican restaurants.

I was making a delivery to a Mexican grocery store and they had employees outside serving taco thingies. I bought a few and tipped the guy and put some hot sauce on my taco thingies. Damn! My mouth was burning for 10 minutes afterward! They had some hot sauce that was really hot and not mild. I guess it was good. I really don't know because my mouth was on fire! I was sweating like I ran the mile!

A little pico de gallo works great.  My favorite place in SoCal, Wahoo's, makes awesome rice and beans and that's all they do.

Pico de gallo recipe:

1 to 1.5  cups diced ripe tomatoes (some people like then peeled and seeded, but up to preference)
1/4 cup diced yellow onion
1/4 cup seeded, chopped fresh red pepper (some people say this shouldn't be in pico, but I like it)
1/2 tablespoon seeded and minced jalapeno
1 to 2  teaspoons chopped garlic (to taste)
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1/2 to 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro leafs
salt and fresh ground pepper

It should not be soupy like salsa.

Mix a couple of spoonfuls into the rice or just throw it into the mix in the tortilla.

We added Cilantro and lime to the rice and black beans. It definately gives it more flavor.

Scrum-when we try that recipe I will let you know. Thanks all. BigAKFan
