Curious about both taste and storage-ability, for example the Sopakco company MRE's.

They don't specifically mention heaters.  How do I get those and what is the storage-ability of those?

Sopako makes military ones too.

They offer 2 versions of the commercial ones.  I've been pretty happy with the better ones

I buy from Meyer Custom Supply - they sell the heaters too

Some years ago, I helped SOPAKCO
when it was trying to market its MREs
for the non military market.

I had several conversations with one of the owners
who told me their products were made of the same
components that would be used in a top restaurant.
For example, he said their chicken entrees used chicken
that didn't even have cosmetic blemishes.

My assumption has always been that the non-mil MREs are
overruns that are re-packaged. That's what they were when
I had some insight into the company.

I want to toss about 2-3 in a BOB / trunk bag (it will sit in the car).  Would be nice to have the flameless heater as part of the package.  I did pick up a Rival food sealer yesterday from Wal-Mart ($39.95), so I suppose I could seal each package together (or repackage the inside packages to my liking).
