Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Nitpicky AR brass deflector question

I have three AR's which all have brass deflectors with residue right on the outside tip area. I just got a new Bushy DCM, have'nt fired it yet but some of the brass residue on the deflector is on the inside, right next to the exjection port as well as the outside. Do some Ar's pitch brass a tad diffrently off the deflector or do I have too much time on my hands? Thanks in advance.

Depending on ammo type, condition of parts (springs, extractor, etc.), amount of lubricant present, they can all be a little different.
Real question is, how does it function?
If it works OK, stop worrying and start practicing!.
