9mm Springfield 1911, or S&W M29 44 Magnum? Both is not an option this tax season

I'm movin to Wyoming and want the Magnum for the mountains (I have a .357 in my safe as well tho)

The S&W is unfired, has the pinned and recessed cylinder in presentation box...

But the 9mm is so economical... and a 1911.... I don't know. Decisions....

Money is not the object here, I've got $800 set aside for either one.

Why a Nine? How about a .45 1911?

IMO a 1911 should be a .45

I know. I want to shoot the shit out of it, and 9mm is very attractive to my wallet. Even though 44 isn't.

I agree, if you're going to get a 1911, get a 45.  Sell the 357, buy a 44 Mag and get a 1911 in 45.

That early 29 won't hold up to a lot of full power shooting before getting a mite loose. For $800.00, you should be able to get both anyway, N-E-G-O-T-I-A-T-E! For that kind of money, you should be able to get damn near any handgun you want, Why buy an odd duck like the 9mm 1911, or a pre-magnum improvement M29, unless you're looking for a safe queen. Get something good, and shoot it as often as you can.

You may want the 44 mag for the mountain lions if you are going back into the mountains or even to take a deer

In Wyoming, definitely the 29.

44

They are a lot of  fun too, just become less fun faster than a 9mm.
