List of Garands

List of Springfields

I ordered mine back in 2002 and I'm still waiting.

Honestly though, what was sad was that I recieved it in 7 days from when I ordered it... 3 days LESS than if I were to walk into a gun store here in CA and waited the 10 day cooling off period.

Ordered mine back in July and it was here in 12 days.  When ever you get recieve it, it's worth the wait.

So being a team member at AR15.com qualifies me, or do I need to get a membership at that Garand Collector?

How bad of shape are the $350 ones?

AR15.com is not a CMP-affiliated group, so no.

The $350 ones won't look pretty, but certainly will shoot!

Dont you have to shoot a match for some type of check off approval from a CMP/NRA approved gun club and send that proof in to qualify for a CMP rifle?

No the CCW is sufficient, I think they loosened up the requirements a while back.  If you are worried about what you would get for a Rack grade(the cheapest) you can go to Camp Perry in Ohio and pick it out yourself.

The wait time varies depending on if they have the grade that you ordered sorted out and ready to be shipped.  My Service grade USGI HRA took 3 months to receive when I ordered it in March 2004.

Yes, DD214 can replace the shooting requirement.

No no, I've got plenty of garands - I'm just being pissy and whiny because CMP rules don't allow me to buy from them.   If they did, I'd probably have a baker's dozen by now at least.

So instead I have to pay a couple of hundred dollars markup from people who buy from the CMP, when I can find them at decent prices.

I've asked the CMP if if they could make an exception for people that were actually ISSUES the garands they were selling - since I wanted to buy a Danish garand (or three), but they didn't go for it.

You don't have to have a GCA membership but you do have to have a CMP-affiliated club membership. Click here and select Michigan in the state search box. With over 100 affiliated clubs in Michigan, if you are a member of a local club or your state association (shame on you if you aren't) you already meet the club requirement. If not, here's your chance to join and support your state association.
