That would be his triglyceride level. I'm not far behind him. Anything over 500 is dangerous. I'm taking Tricor 145mg too help out.
Cholesterol level half that would kill you. |

He needs a referral to an endocrinologist who may find issues related to diabetes and or another lymphatic disorder. He should also consider medication, exercise and diet. While a reading of over 700 is extreme (and he may have been confused) there are circumstances when abnormal readings are possible, although unlikely.
OBTW I'm not a doctor I've just had strange numbers on health reports that have been explained after re-testing. |

A long, long time ago, some article I read claimed that high cholesterol was often a result of one defective gene in a particular pair, and extremely high cholesterol -- like your 700+ friend -- was a result of both genes of the pair being bad.
But whatever, sounds like he'd better get tested again to make sure it wasn't an error, and to get on medication ASAP. |
