Did 16 hours, NY to Narita, Japan, then a 3 1/2hr to Beijing.

The second time I went my wife and I flew NY to Vancouver, then Vancouver to Shanghai. I think the total time in the air was 17 hours, just with a lay over, so near 22 hours total.

My friend has his office manager pick him up DVDs all the time from Hong Kong. ANything you want. Want all the Simpson's episodes on a few DVDs? He got it.

More important the the DVDs is the DVD player. Get an Oppo. It a chinese manufactured DVD player. For $200US you get the quality of a $1000++ DVD player, plus, if you find the right website you can enter a code that will play all regions. If you buy it here that is. US import laws won't allow it to be imported playinjg all regions. Buy it there and I assume you're good to go.
