My favorite gun store (Southern Gun & Pagers) called my a while ago and said my XD45 was due in tomorrow.  I've got a HS2000 (precursor to the Springfield XD series) that I've never shot but got it because I heard such good reviews.

I use to have a G21 but got rid of it because it didn't fit my hand well.  I've heard that the new XD45 is about the same size as a .40cal. G22 which fits me perfectly but is a .45 ACP.

I hope my XD doesn't go auto on me like my G19 did.

I handled one at the local gun show two weekends ago & was very impressed with the fit and feel.  I have 2 G21s but, due to my small hands, it was a long struggle to learn to shoot them well.  I am very interested to read any & all feedback on these as folks here start to get them in-hand...

I tried it too and was impressed. my girlie hands liked it as much as my xd40.  Waiting for 5" though!

XD, You tell me what you want in the background for a pic and I'll prove I'm getting an XD45 tomorrow.  Pick something I can find (don't pick a vodoo doll from Ethiopia or some such) and I'll prove to you I ain't a liar.

If I'm proven to not be a liar, will that make you a liar or simply just another  ??

Let me know,

That is a FAKE.

There is no way for the slide to be partially out of battery like that.

I don't see any boobies.

However, given that the picture is incredibly out of focus we know that it is probably real and not just a stock photo taken off of the manufacturer's website.

With that said, congrats on the new pistol.

Saw one at Anthony Arms on tuesday but they were busy so I had to pass on taking a look at it up close. They tend to be on the high side anyway ($589 ticketed price) so Ill wait a few weeks and see if the others get a few in.

all xd45's come with a chamber safety piece of rubber that makes them stay open like that.

That's a high speed blurry shot of it in mid recoil. Obviously.

I paid $535 out the door for the XD45.  If XDBACKUPGUN says that I stole it-- don't believe it.

I'm not one of the ones doubting you, of course, and don't think you need to post anything else, but I think a pic of your gun lying on a piece of paper with the handwritten message "TROLL this, XDBACKUPGUN!" would work...

I find the name of the store most interesting. Could you take a photo of the store's signage and the inside?

Heck since you asked, I picked up an XD45 the two weeks ago. It joins a HS2000, XD40 and some others in the safe.   I posted a few comparison picks at other places but I guess I can post them here as well.

From left to right-1911, Ruger P97, Glock 22, XD45, XD40, HS2000

Very nice collection...

I really like the handling characteristics and other features of my new XD, The only thing that I don't care for thus far are the highly polished mags.

Man, the recoil spring is really stiff as compared to my G21.

Shouldn't be that long, I held one in my hot little hands today at the gun shop at Camp Pendleton today.

I kinda like it.  Seemed to fit my big mitt pretty well.  Think I'ld like one, would really like one in 5".
