Looking at pics of some of y'alls stockpiles I would guess you buy a case a week.  My problem is as soon as I buy it, it gets all shot up.I usually buy on average 1,000rds a month.

The cat is out of the bag.  We saw that video of that highcapacity ammo eater that your wife was shooting.

I buy in bulk, so it's sporadic.

I don't get out shooting that much, so it lasts awhile

I haven't bought mass quantities of ammo for over a year.    I just don't have the money

depending on the caliber I start looking when I'm down to 500 rounds remaining.
ETA: however if I hear of a good deal I will buy it even though I have plenty of it.

I am trying to buy in bulk but that also means that I will shoot it up in bulk as well.  I have done ok stocking up.  I have around 1,750rds of 5.56/.223 on hand.  Trying to decide on whether to buy a case of Wolf, M855 or more GA Canned Heat.

You shoot nearly 1000 rounds per month? HOW?

I might shoot 1000 rounds of 5.56 in a YEAR assuming I don't take a class.

I usually buy a couple boxes a week and I don't do enough shooting. And if I see a good deal on case size quantities, I will buy a couple cases.

I let the wife add it up and it reached $5K.

She doesn't think I need any more.

hardly at all, I started buying a case here and there for 762x39, 1 case of Wolf in .223, but 99% of all my ammo is reloads.  Just bought 12 lbs of powdoer, 100lbs of shot, some wads, awaiting 4600 pieces of brass from some dude on ebay, last year bought some projectiles, shotshell primers.

Before a class or when I find a good deal.  I usually buy in bulk though

Pretty damn easy.  2hrs every weekend. 10 mags worth.

Every once in awhile I'll buy ammo. I had bought large amounts from Oct 2001through the end of 2004. I have enough to ride out this recent so called shortage of 7.62x39 and 5.56.

Fits and starts. I buy when I see good deals, or I hear another tape from bin Laden, or...

I haven't bought any in a while but I'm thinking about going to Cabela's in February. I tend to buy ammo there.

Three to four times a week, many cases at a time.

At least once a month but I only buy ammo from online dealers. Its a good way to end up with 7k rounds of 5.7 ammo & no ps90

my last ammo purchase was [27 May 05]

I picked up three 100 rd 9mm value packs at Walmart

I still have one 100rd value pack left

At least one case per month, plus as used/needed.  (I only buy in bulk and I keep my stash at a comfortable level.)

I’ll buy a case (or two) every three months or so, but then the summer rolls around and its all gone.
From late June thru September I went through ~5k of .223/5.56.  I guess its because I’m going to the range for 4 hours 4-7 times a week at least twice a month in the summer.

About once a week for some stuff, less often for others.

DANG!  I might go thru 5 mags worth TOTAL if we have any full auto going on.

You need a DILLON 550, Cleatus!

I usually go to the range about once or twice a month. I'll shoot about 300 rounds each time I go. That's about 5400 rounds a year. With the recent addition of 2 belt-feds to my collection, I expect that number will go up a good bit.

I'm always on the lookout for good deals on ammo. If I see a good deal, I'll buy a few thousand rounds of it just to have. That Cabella's deal of $70 per 1000 on Wolfe 7.62mmx39 (bought 2000 rounds), is paying off big time with my recent purchase of a RPD. The 5000 rounds of 90's Aussy F4 .308 that I bought a year ago at $150 per 1000 is paying off now with my 1919A4 that I'm getting this month.

If you see a great deal on ammo, you better jump on it because it's almost certain you'll buy a gun sometime in the future that will use the ammo.

Probably 125,000 rounds of various calibers over the last two or three years, whatever that comes out to on average

I try to buy ammo when it's on sale.  I usually get a case or two.  9mm and 5.56.

I've got some .22lr ammo I've had for a long time.  I'm using my old .22lr before I buy more.

Some ammo I buy when I need it.  I'm new to .45cal so I buy it when I head toward the range.  Wal-Mart is on the way.  I get 200 rounds and shoot it that day.

When I have some extra $$$$ I look for the deal.

I reload for pistol, so I don't buy that much, usually a little 9mm Winchester WB. If I shoot a box or two of that, I'll stop by and get twice what I shot up. I did this last Saturday and was amazed to see that WalMart had restocked .223! They had been out for 3 weeks since I wiped them out (a staggering 3 forty round boxes). So I told the clerk I would "take all there was" (I see you guys say that all the time and leave with carts of the stuff) and wiped them out again- 3 boxes. Then I went to the Co-Op for some cedar chips. Out. So I went to the other Wal Mart and wiped THEM out. Three more boxes. I left one. I'm no hog.

I am buying .308 Win by the case as the budget will allow. I go to the range 1-2 times a month and shoot around 400, mostly pistol,so it's no big expenditure. Cheaper than duck hunting by a LONG stretch.

Edited for speling.
