He is in his 80s.

I hope he retires soon.  Although it will be the last thing he wants to do.

If he does W needs to pick another imminently qualified justice that cannot reasonably be voted down.

Then the court will take a leap to the right.

He's 85 and they say still going strong but at that age that could change overnight.

I'm betting the Bush bashers on this board will find little solace in that--perhaps Kerry would have done better in choosing nominees.

Oh, I bet he (Kerry) would have stopped the invasion of the southern border single-handedly.  And gotten several medals for it in the process.

I think some sand in the eye rates a purple heart, don't it?

Ginsberg is supposed to be in bad health too. Personally I think both are obstinate enough that they will stay on the court until they die like Reinquist.

Rush thinks they will get discouraged being in the minority and retire.

Let's hope. It certainly went that way all through 1995 in the Congress.

Boy, wouldn't that be something if Ginsberg and Stevens both retire in time for President Bush to nominate a pair of solid conservative judges like Alito and Roberts. Talk about a massive shift of the court to the right for the next 30 years! That's something I could live with

I predict both will hold out until the 2008 election hoping for Hilary to win.
