Twisted Sisted is one of the most underated bands everyone always goof on them due to there image but they made good music
The Scorpions. (I'm not sure why, I just like them)
The Stray cats/ Brian Setzer Orchestra (Rock-a-billy kicks ass... and knowbody knows it) The Ramones (In punk circles they are addored but the general population knows very little of their influence) |
I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but I think "Dream Theater" is.
I keep running into Rick Neilson at the hardware store. He drives a really sweet 56 T-Bird.
Led Zeppelin
(I think I've only done this 4 or 5 times now so I thought this thread could use a little more absurdity) |
Just watched ole Emmett Otter this past Christmas. Used to be a tradition, I'm trying to fire it back up again. PS The Riverbottom Nightmare Band rocked waaayyyy harder then Emmett... |

Jimmy Page, IMHO is underrated. He has been on so much stuff outside of Zeppelin. The guy owns the guitar. |

PRIMUS
Some of the strangest, greatest music ever. Their own webpage is primussucks.com, you've got to love that. |
+87 for rock-a-billy and an extra +25 for Link Wray!!! I have a live365 account and just added LinkWRAYdio to my presets. For those that don't know what live365 is - it is literally thousands of radio stations by people that just want good music to be given a voice. Visit http://www.live365.com and sign-up, IT IS FREE!!! |

You know your music. |

Another +1. I consider Undertow as classic of an album as ANY album. |
I own it on VHS, the kids like it. |
The Salvador Dali of Music. |
Pink Floyd. No matter how much people appreciate them, it isn't enough.
Interpol is a distant second. |
Pantera.
Even if you're not a metal-heal (I'm not), you'll love their music. |
I've always put Zeppelin above floyd.
What about Grateful Dead? +1 on Primus. |
whoozzat? |
+1 for Zappa another is Elvis Costello, very underated |

Something about the Wallflowers always made me think they never got the fame they deserved, or maybe more appropriately they never reached the fame they could have.
As far as country music: Old Crow Medicine Show! One of the best country music bands playing right now, but you've never heard of them. Way btter and back to the roots of true country music than any of the commercial crap you hear on radio or see on CMT. Same with Shooter Jennings, Waylons son. He is better than the Country top 40'ers but probably will never climb out of the shadow. But if you like real county, check out OCMS. |
Must be some under-rated band opening for Blue Öyster Cult. |

No flame here - Dream Theater is AMAZING - never heard a group that was so "tight" and has an amazingly complex sound. And even their covers are incredible. Their cover of "Funeral for a Friend" gives me goosebumps. |

Les Paul. Though not a rock musician per se, without his innovations modern music simply wouldn't exist...
+1 on Interpol
And just because having put his name on the other thread is an heresy: DAVID BOWIE Oh and The Eels too. |
I thought we had concluded that Cheap Trick was one of the most overrated bands in the other thread?
They certainly are not underrated. BigDozer66 |
Three very good choices! BigDozer66 |

Does Blue Oyster Cult have plans on releasing a new album anytime soon?
Another vote for Zappa.
Dread Zeppelin never got the respect they deserved either. |
I was hoping they might release a new one this year (seems like it's about time), but I haven't heard anything on the list-serv. Spectres & Some Enchanted Evening are supposed to be remastered and released this year with some never-before-released tracks added, though. With 21 albums spanning more than 4 decades and untold reissues/collections out there (plus the remastered pre-BOC Stalk-Forrest Group CD released a couple of years ago) you would think we "Cultists" would have enough to listen to... but I'm always looking forward to more. |
