I searched and found nothing. If it's a dupe, it's worth duping.

Sioux warrior laid to rest...

wow...that actually brought a tear to my eye, which almost never happens.

That right there is what America is all about.

It's good to see that they still value the warrior culture.

“He earns the American flag from his government,” says Vietnam veteran John Around Him. “He earns the eagle feather from his people.”

Woah. You don't know whether to be proud or sad.

Also, note that their HS has a wall with a flag and a listing of Lakota in the miliitary. Do that in some other places and you'll get sued to take it down.

I had to smile at the irony of "guns in the school."

As said, there aren't too many places in America where you can do that anymore.

It's stories like that that remind me how terribly we fucked over a proud and noble people.  It's history but it doesn't make it right.

I'm always reminded of the line out of the movie The Last of the Dogmen. Barbara Hershey says to Tom Berenger "What happened was inevitable. How it happened was unconscionable."  A true dark mark on American history.

Most Americans have been cleansed of any traditions they may have had.  Take it from me.  The college I attended has had many long-standing traditions that are constantly under attack from one group or another.

Just shows how strong a people they truly are for these people to have held onto their heritage through all the shit they've suffered.
