I searched and found nothing. If it's a dupe, it's worth duping.
Sioux warrior laid to rest... Looks like the Rocky Mtn. News hits another homerun. Good job RMN!!! |
wow...that actually brought a tear to my eye, which almost never happens.
That right there is what America is all about. |
The picture of the cousin kissing him got me. |
Amen to that. |

Woah. You don't know whether to be proud or sad. Also, note that their HS has a wall with a flag and a listing of Lakota in the miliitary. Do that in some other places and you'll get sued to take it down. |

I liked the pic of the Old War Horses at the table with there M1's.
Outstanding!
He will always be remembered this way. Prayers for his family and tribe for their loss. |
I had to smile at the irony of "guns in the school." As said, there aren't too many places in America where you can do that anymore. |

Problem with the eyes... That display was all about respect and patriotism... the rest of this country needs to see this and learn. Dram out |
Man, it would be cool to sit down and talk with those guys for a while. |

It's stories like that that remind me how terribly we fucked over a proud and noble people. It's history but it doesn't make it right.

Yeah me too, when i saw the pic of the Capt. giving the watch & dogtags to his parents. Poor mother & father. I don't know if i could handle that if it were my son, i do know i would be proud, but devastated God Bless you Cpl. Brett Lundstrom Thank you for your honor & sacrifice. You will not be forgotten. |

A sad but proud +1 |

I'm always reminded of the line out of the movie The Last of the Dogmen. Barbara Hershey says to Tom Berenger "What happened was inevitable. How it happened was unconscionable." A true dark mark on American history. |

Speechless.
ETA. On a small note that was post 1000 for me, could not be a better place for it. |
That's the way to do it, combine the Military traditions with his ancestorial traditions..
Believe me, it's an honor to start a thread such as this. And as up-to-date on current events as GD can be it's a bit of a surprise I'm the first one to post it too. |

+1 - something in my eye... |
Will someone please bump this for the night crew after a bit? I'm headed off to bed before work now.
Thanks guys. |

Thank you so very much for this post. another son on his way home, Semper Fi marine, job well done, now is your time of rest, God Bless
Most Americans have been cleansed of any traditions they may have had. Take it from me. The college I attended has had many long-standing traditions that are constantly under attack from one group or another. Just shows how strong a people they truly are for these people to have held onto their heritage through all the shit they've suffered. |

The Marine standing guard in front of the tepee just does it for me. I’m going to clean my eyes out now, must be some dust in them… |
Hoka Hey!
Today is a good day to die! Rest, now, brave warrior. |
Very touching, I noticed he was killed on my birthday. Its moving to see everyone honoring a fallen hero in such a manner.
