I really don't care where my call is routed, but could people in charge of these things PLEASE be SURE that the people who work in call centers in 3rd world places can SPEAK THE FREAKIN' LANGUAGE???  And hey, while we're at it, maybe actually know how to accomplish some or all of the tasks that they are ostensibly there to execute?

Yes, I have just had a bad overseas call center experience.

Did the problem get fixed?

If more companies actually cared about customer service, this would have never been an issue.

It's actually a TV show called the call center. I work in technical support and have for many years. I am located in the US working for a US company. I read articles and keep up to date on call center trends and out-sourcing and such.
RANT ON!
The overwhelming majority of Americans who end up getting routed to call centers in other countries curse and insult the people they talk to. They hate us for it. I am amazed by the amount of people that call in, after causing their PC to crash and get mad because our technical support agents will not fix it ( I work for an ISP). I have been cursed at so many times, been threatened, you name it. People are selfish assholes who take out their frustration with being idiots that the tech workers are the ones who have to deal with it.
If you buy a computer please for the love of god, learn how to use it, read the instruction book on your Operating System, go through the online tutorials. When you break it surfing for porn, call a PC technician and pay them to fix it and show you how to avoid the problem a second time!

RANT OFF!

I called tech support once, got routed to Indeeyah.  I asked the tech support guy for his name and badge no., he told me "Ree-chee Cunning-hahm."

I am not making this up.

When ever I talk to someone from a call center, like bill collectors and tech support, I just ask to be transfered to someone else until I get someone that can speak enough english to help me out. No frustration and no need to rant. Simple

You better get used to it.  A headline this morning said Dell is sending another 5,000 jobs to India.

Gateway has stuck by their US call centers for a while.  I've been told they have one in the Phillipines.

Dell just announced that it's hiring 5,000 more employees in India.

Damn.
