For those of you not familiar with outdoor survival instructors Ron and Karen Hood of Hood's Woods at [url]www.survival.com[/url], they're the real deal, and they have a terrific series of videos that teach simple but extremely effective survival techniques that are of particular use in "woods"-type environments, though many of them apply to anywhere.
Anyway, this post is about Ron's tool called the ATAX. I mentioned it briefly in a prior post a few months ago, but I thought I'd post something specific about it in case people missed it.

The ATAX is one of the most useful tools I've ever seen. Designed by Ron with input from his students (many of them top knifemakers and survivalists themselves), and manufactured by [url]www.topsknives.com[/url], it is a super piece of gear.
