I would like to hear your stories of impulse buying, so to start it off hear is mine.

4 days ago I was working out of town, so my company pays for my hotel.  After work I check out this po-dunk town in IL, and find a gunshop.  I walk in see a brand new 32 round mag for a Glock 9mm.  I think to myself that would be cool to have for shits and grins.  So I buy the mag and 6 other regular full cap.  All official Glock.

"To bad I don't have a Glock."  I think to myself.

So today I went to this kickass gunshop in Belleville IL. (I live in the St. Louis area)

I walk in and I say "Do you have any Glock 17s?"

Store owner: "Yes I do."

I check it out and I say: "I'll take it."

Store owner: "Great."

I say: "I want to get a 1911, I have never owned one before"

I scoped out the new Kimber Raptor, and the Desert Warrior.  They were both awsome.  Then the owner said I got this trade in that I originally sold to a guy he put 50 round through it and traded it back.  It was a Wilson Combat CQB Grey/Black.  It looked band new.  all shiny on the inside and everything.  It was $1600.

I said: "I will take that too."

As I walk to the check-out I see a new AK with an underfolder It was a Vector build on a Yugo reciever.  I checked it out for 30 seconds and said: "I'll take that too."

As I am filling out the paper I see an MP5 full auto in the rental case.  I say: After we fill out these papers charge me for a rental on the MP5 and I'll take some ammo.

I never shot a full auto weapon before. I shot 200 rounds through it, shooting 3-5 shot strings.  It was the most fun I ever had with my pants on.

Total bill
$3,015.27

Here are the pics

Good purchases all around, though.

On my way home from the grocery store.  Saw a truck I liked in the dealer parking lot.  None of the groceries needed to be put in the fridge, so I stopped, test drove, and bought my $27,000 truck.

I would say about 10 or so of the guns I have bought were bought completely on impulse.  Had no real want for it until I saw it at the shop/show.

The shop is on Route 159 south of 64

It is called the "Belleville Shooting Range"

I just got engaged at Christmas (so I did'nt have to buy a present too, I thought the ring was enough)

I feel I should be well armed before I get married.

I wish I had the disposable income to do something like that without being overtaken by buyer's remorse. I think thr last impulse purchase I made was a $29 dollar jacket.

Called up Dealers Warehouse one time to get a receiver. While I was on the phone I ordered a 1911 just for grins. Wife didn't know anything until I had to move the safe. All the guns come out and she says, "Hey is this new?"
Oops.

Entering college and broke up with my GF of 1.5 yrs.  Decided I kind of liked sportbikes so I bought a new 2001 Suzuki GSX-R 750 a few days after considering it.  Best money I've spent.

Went into my favorite gun store.
Saw a Beretta Silver Hawk 12ga, 28 inch barrels, SxS, english stock, etc
ohhhhhhhhh, pretty
but I can't get it without getting the wife something (as it's her turn for a new gun)
Hey, i ask, got any left hand O/U's?

Sure, he says, got a real nice brand new Browning 525 left handed.

total bill, just under 6,000  (yeah, shotguns are 'spensive)

plus another $700 for stock fitting.

Just got my bonus payment, so..cleaned off a credit card, my overdraft, some in savings, etc...decided to run by the local funstore on the way back from lunch, "just to see"

15 minutes later I walked out with a brand new Springfield XD 45ACP. Didn't plan on it, didn't even expect or really want to get anything...but *Shrug* kinda hard to turn down 13+1 of .45 for a good price, especially since the new ones have a way better finish than the older XD's...

That'll be the last gun purchase for a while...hopefully...

I just bought a blade-tech belt holster with Tek-Lok clasp for $60.

I don't really need it, but I want a better holster for my Glock 21.

Plus I'm a college student, so $60 isn't a meaningless amount of money to me.

I bought a Henry Goldenboy lever-action .22 the first time I saw it.  Fun little rifle, and it looks sharp.

We made an offer on the house we bought less than an hour after we first stepped in the door.  But we'd been looking for a house for four months, so I don't know if that counts as an impulse buy.

My wife bought me an iPod for Christmas. But being a girl, she didn't bother to read the system requirements on the side of the box. Our home computer was an ancient POS and wouldn't be able to run the iTunes software.

So shortly after that I bought a new $1400 iMac so I could play with my new iPod.

Latest impulse buy...

last night after realizing again the world is coming to an end, I bought $250 worth of Mountain House food direct from MH. Their just down the valley from me and my tin foil collection

I also Impulse bought my fiancee's engagement ring at $4200, but I am making intrest free payments on that.

Other than the ring and the car payment I'm debt free.

I try to buy everything with cash, exept for today cause I don't carry 3 grand on me.
My impulse buy today will be paid when the first bill comes.

I once bought a Berretta 96 on a Gayland's Credit Cared cause they offered 20% off  the first purchase over $500 and intrest free for a year. I got a gun for under cost and payed for it when the first bill came.

Being debt free is the best feeling in the world.  I love saving money so I can splurge every year or so.

Also, no morgage and no kids, no wife, helps I'm sure.

I love America.

I just walked into the campus bookstore last week. I saw a $160 Physiology book on the shelf that looked good in its red cover. I got that. I also got about four various lab manuals for $50 a pop. Then I got a Cell Bio book for $100 just as icing on the cake.

Total cost: $460, and I have something to do in my free time!

I almost impulse bought that XD.45 today but I had to draw a line somewhere, right?

I was impressed on how strong the grip is being that it is so thin.  In a blind test you could not tell that it was any bigger than an XD 9.
