This show run from 1962 to 1967.

I'm in my 20's so I've only seen the reruns

Watching when I was a kid, Combat made me fall in love with M1 Carbines. I now have 2 of them.

I wish I had 200 of them.

Uhm, only the LT [ played by Rick Jason } carried a carbine. The rest of the rifles were M1 Garands. Kirby was the BAR man and Sarge had the Thompson.

Great show! Vic Morrow hated the weight of his Thompson so they made a wooden one which lighter for him. IIRC - Believe he was anti-gunner.

The stories were classic and the show done well.

Rat Patrol was the shitznitz, loved it~~~!!!!

For some of you folks who don't know, Vic Morrow was killed in a helicopter accident while filming the movie version of the TV show Twilight Zone. He and a another Vietnamese child was killed when the copter got too close and hit them with its rotor blades.

I don't have that channel, but I've seen it late at night on one of the channels (I don't know which one). It was my favorite show when I was a kid.

I think it IS available on DVD.

Yep, they also run it late at night/very early in the morning.. The acting is kind of cheesy, but it is fun to watch.

I caught a few episodes of Rat Patrol back in the day. Loved the pedestal mounted machineguns in the Jeeps. I seem to remember them being M2's though they were probably .30cals instead.

Never saw Combat until the mid-90's. Some cable station was running "Action Thursday" or something. We'd take our lunch when Combat came on.

I should get the set. I loved it.

I watched it today, as a matter of fact. Pigeons with cameras. Pretty cool.

That show always had a big name guest star.

It's worth buying on DVD if you are too young to remember it when it was on....and even if you are!
