Change the extension on the mp3 file to .mid. Then mail the file to yourself at your#@vzwpix.com .

(you may have to go to vzwpix.com to set up your account first)

Once the file gets to your phone, save the .mid file to your phone's memory.

Then you should be able to set it as a ringer just like other .mid files, but the phone will play the mp3 file.

This works on my motorola.

what the hell is all this supposed to do?

I mean, what is the point?

I hadsome thug looking fooz asking if I wanted to buy some damn ring tones from their stereo shop or some damn place. They'rw worse than homelss asking for a buck.

Maybe i'm just getting old...

I have a LG8000 with Verizon and did not want to pay for ring tones. So I downloaded what I wanted from the net and converted the .wav files to mp3. Then I emailed them to my phone using outlook express. Your phone number including the area code [email protected]. When you receieve the email save it and then select it as your ring tone.  Here are a few that I use.

Depends what phone you have. Does it have IR? Bluetooth? If yes and your computer has IR or Bluetooth, you can send just about anything to your handset wirelessly.

cool!  I googled CTU ring tone, founda  midi and a mp3, saved to my local hard drive, then slapped in my sony ericsson z500a, it popped up as drive N: or something and I simply copied the files to the ../sounds directory there, then unplugged the USB cable, went to phone settings and selected CTU24.mp3 and now that's my ring tone
