I have some gift certificates & coupons I have to spend at Cabela's, and I was thinking about getting a hard gun case for long guns.  I'd like to get something durable and suitable for air travel with lock.  Is there one particular brand that is better than the others?

They carry a bunch of brands:  link.

Thanks for any input you might have.  The last time I bought a hard case (from Sportman's Guide) it was a POS, and I don't want to buy blind this time.

I'm a Star Light man myself, but you can't really go wrong with a Pelican either.

Do these Pelican cases lock?

Is $200 an awful price for the 2-gun model?

Anyone know whether they lock and if $200 is a good price?

My Pelican 1720 is lockable with padlocks and I paid around $200 for it.  Here is a pic:

It has served me well thus far.

From what I can see they don't appear lockable, and don't say that they are, but I only looked at a couple.

EDIT--I like Kolpin Gun Boots, but I don't know about flying with them. They are lockable.

They most certainly are lockable.

I got a Winchester double shotgun case from Army,Navy,Military surplus store. It was 69.95 plus tax&shipping, it's aluminum And has combination locks and two other locks that you can put a lock through. They had a two gun case for a little over a hundred dollars plus shipping. Hope this helps.
