In semi it's a machinegun.

In auto is just dangerous.

I'll buy anything if the price is right.

That being said, the MAC is an ugly weapon with a reputation for inaccuracy.

Save your money and get an UZI first if you don't already have one.

If that's what you really want, then stick with the AKs and the TEC-9's, yo.

+1

I picked up an open bolt MAC-10 a couple years ago for $700.

Came w/ a alot of accessories & mags.

I'm in WA state so obviously it is semi-auto. It's a sinister looking block of black steel thats for sure.

One look inside it at the FCG and it's obvious why the feds banned them

Chuck Norris has one so why shouldn't I

I've got a standard UZI 9mm carbine with an IMI 45ACP conversion kit.  The gun is a kick to shoot, but I find that the gun fairly heavy.  The main drawback for me personally is the since the semi-auto Uzi is derived from its FA cousin, you still have to hold down that grip safety and your hand gets tired because releasing the grip safety take a some hand power unlike that of a 1911.

Bullet-burners that will not feed hollowpoints to save their lives. Use good FMJ ammo if you get one.

Not very accurate, but they do look pretty cool.

Perfect gun to polish up your gangsta-style shooting technique.

I had a semi-auto Cobray MAC11 9mm and that thing ate every ammo I ever put in the damn thing. Never jammed, hollow points, fmj, old ammo, new ammo. Bullet eating machine. Get one, its fun.

I have had a M-11 9mm for a few years. Like the guy said they eat any 9mm you feed it, except
Spanish semi blendado cartachoes. Mine is the Cobray, I do lose a E clamp every once in a while.
Mine came with the fake suppressor, front grip...

Heck yes!  The g/f bought me one for valentines day a few years back.  I think she paid around $325 or so.  I haven't put more than 150 rnds threw it, wicked trigger slap.  I do like it for it's evil factor though.  My .02

I want a MAC-10. I'd prefer full-auto, but that's not going to be in my budget any time within the next ten years, so I'm going semi. Preferably open-bolt just for grins.

Plus if the world ever ends and the government collapses, I can say "FINALLY I can convert this!" and go to work. Assuming I know anything about it and have a working machine shop by that point. In the meantime, it'd just be a fun little blaster and would get tossing in the safe the first time I could afford a real one with a happy switch.

I don't get why people say they're ugly; they look functional. Pure. Function. This is a gun that says "you are on the wrong end and I am about to screw you up the ass with thirty-three rounds in two seconds flat. Have a nice day. Bitch."

MAC's are horribly inaccurate in full-auto (adding a suppressor improves this somewhat, though), but in semi-auto they CAN be aimed accurately. They're also one of the quieter firearms when equipped with a suppressor. The SEALs still use 'em, so they've got to be worth keeping around for some reason, right?

If your getting semi-auto only. get the closed bolt.  Close bolt is inherntly more accurate then open bolt.  Generaly open bolt will shoot low, because the bolt moves forward peeling of a round, and ramming home to the breach, and then firing as soon as it is in battery.  The inertia created by the bolt slamming forward tilts the barrel down.  An MP5 is more accurate than an UZI or a MAC because the MP5 fires from a closed bolt.  They all shoot the same round, so any differance in accuracy is do to the mechanical function of the weapon.

The MAC is a cool Shits & Grins kinda gun.  I you get a semi, pick up a hellfire system for it and have a blast.
