Would the rosetta stone CDs learn me enough Arabic to read and troll on islamic websites?

from what i understand they don't teach writing very much, mostly conversational skills.

You might try contacting the missions department at Central Christian College of the Bible.  They use Rosetta extinsevely to train their missionaries.  Here's their web addressCentral Christian College of the Bible
