I see one that appears bigger and then one that appears smaller?

is the small one called a CAR buttstock?

bump, can anyone help, i see two different types of collapsable stocks, one is smaller one is larger i want the larger one...

Short answer:
The CAR stocks lock in 4 positions and are a bit smaller with a few other differences.
M4 type stocks usually lock in 6 positions and are larger.

Traditionally this is true, with the caveat that the original CAR stocks were 2 position and current production CAR stocks come with the same 6 position tube as the M4 stocks.

technically not true, the M-4 I had issued to me in 2001 had the old CAR 4 position stock on it.
