I never found out how the front sight tool works. I have the correct one for my A2, but the prongs or teeth, if you will, don't seem to fit into the holes and push the detent down enough.
I ended up doing it the old way of using the tip of a round to push and turn. |

I use the standard tool, with the A2 front post teeth on one end and the A1 dial teeth on the other. As I have Trijicon sights, I've bored out the inside with a drill press all the way through. Works like a charm; never had any trouble with it, and it certainly beats using a bullet! -Troy |

That looks just like the one I have 'cept mine doesn't have much for teeth on the A2 end. Are these things all the same? |

This is the tool that I prefer. I have the Bushmaster tool as well, but for me, this tool seems to fit my ArmaLite and Colt barrel just a little better. I got this from Sinclair International [url]http://www.sinclairintl.com[/url] but I can't find it in their online catalog, so you'd probably have to order it via telephone if interested.

Well, there's an A1 version with 5 teeth for the front post and the A2 version with 4. Maybe yours just has worn or damaged teeth. They're cheap; pick up a new one at the next gun show or whatever. I have one like Jim Dandy posted too, but the larger knob makes the other type easier to use.

Somewhere (can't remember), I got one about 1/2 the length of the one posted by Jim_Dandy.
Hollow cylinder, so will adjust all sights, A2 config., drilled a keychain hole in it. Haven't lost it yet. |

I just recieved an A1 and an A2 sight tool from BM. They are $7.95 each. The teeth do not look real strong but at that price I guess you could buy two or three to have on hand. And they do work well.
