Why does it take so long to submit a reply? Have a fast line here at work, not seeming too fast now!

It seems to be taking up to 3-4 min. OK maybe justa couple min. seems like a loooonnngg time.

It may just be your connection

Granted I am on DSL, but it is
fairly quick

Speed is as good as it's going to be. For me this forum works very fast indeed, on a cable modem connection.

I designed the forums to be as light on the system and as fast as possible. There are safety catches so people dont double post, spam, etc and bog things down.

The goal was to aleviate Ed's ongoing battle with UBB and its requirements of a monster system to run. Even with such high requirements every machine he has upgraded to keeps getting maxed out.

Hopefully this performance will continue and maybe you guys can thank me by getting me a nice new AR15.

*Ahem* As for the speed issue, I assume it is network traffic between you and the server...

Speed is fantastic from my end. Of course I have DSL also.

Those of you getting slowdowns, are you using Netscrape browsers perchance?

Am using a cable modem and speed seems fine. Actually faster than the old forums but that is probably due to fewer users on this version.

I'm getting it at the same speed I get 50world at. No problems.

Yeah I pretty much assumed that netscrape is having a slower load time due to the layout surrounding the forums.

My personal feeling is Netscrap is a POS as evident by their failure to achieve W3C approval in their version 6 browser.

Ed and I realize the need to accomodate Netscape users though and will do our best to try to improve and clean things up for those of you who are stuck using it. [=D][=D][=D]
