Anybody seen this movie, or know anyone who has?

Yeah, it's the one with two cowboys playing hide the salami in a pup tent.

I'm curious if it's really as good as the reviews or are the reviewers playing politics with the fags. My theory is that giving "BBM" outstanding reviews is purely political.

Obviously very few people are paying to see it. A recent "Entertainment Magazine" showed "Broke Back Mountain" making $32 million for 5 weeks while in comparison "Chronicles of Narnia", which was released the same week, made $589 million.

I realize profit alone does not determine which movie is more artistic or more entertaining, but having "BBM" crammed down my throat in the newspaper movie reviews and coverage on network news casts tells me there's an agenda if the profits are so very lopsided.

Lets look at that comparison:
King Kong Cumulative gross:$204,527,690 # of theatres:2814 weekend gross:$9,061,690
BBM cumulative gross:$32,074,517 # of theatres:683 weekend gross:$7,041,508

I can't find production costs, but considering the special effects, Kong is more costly in that respect. Kongs only been out one week more than BBM, is playing on a lot more screens than BBM, and didn't make that much more than BBM did, given the number of screens.

Kong needs to make more $$ to recover its costs; the overall gross looks promising, but its not holding up as well as, for instance, Narnia, which has been out longer than either and still leads both films.
