I had a ruger 10/22 that I wouldn't bet my life on....not because it was a bad gun, but because it's too small a caliber to be betting a life upon.

I've got a TEC9 that was given to me that is broken. I wouldn't bet my life on it if it were fixed. I wouldn't bet a beer on it if it were brand new.
If I could get it fixed cheap I'd trade it for something of value but I can find the parts for it. |

Other than my 10/22s (for above reasons), I wouldn't own a gun that I couldn't trust my life to. That is why I DO own them.

I have an old H&R 622. It's cheap and fun to shoot. No way in hell would I bet my life on it but I only paid $50 for it and will keep it at least until I get a decent .22 pistol.

Phoenix .22 it was a gift and I don't think I have ever successfully run a full mag through it w/o a malfunction.

Only gun in my safe that I wouldn't bet my life to is my Savage 111FXP3 in .270, the bolt does not remove the spent brass from the chamber for ejection

Got a Walther P22 (only gun I've ever bought used) that started out as a lemon. After some fine WECSOG by myself, its been behaving at the range the last few outings. But I still wouldn't bet my life on it.

I have a Dan Wesson 445 supermag that gets pretty finicky, but it is mostly due to the load I am using in it.. Don't want to change loads because it makes the steel targets fall down real nice at 200meters
 Also have a mossberg 500 that if you don't rack the slide hard enough it doesnt release the next shell out of the tube and you end up with an empty chamber |

Had a Taurus PT series hand gun that would jam so bad you couldn't get the mag or slide to move without beating it on something. I gave it to my brother

The problem with betting your life on your guns is that sometimes you have no choice. If I were in a situation, I would trust my AR-15 more than my handgun, AK, .308, .22 or 12-gauge, but if I had a choice I wouldn't bet my life on any of them.

The short mag version ? Mine does the same , but only at the bench and I am handing the spent brass. A crisp working of the bolt has resulted in no problems. The gun I don't trust is my ex wife's Lady Smith( 3913). Just like her, it behaves fine as long as I feed it the expensive shit. Damn how I wish she'd been carrying that pos instead of my Kahr when she left ! |

I have a "bring Back" Miller and Val Drilling that i wouldn't bet my life on. It is a double barrel shotgun (16 ga.) with a .22 hornet in the middle. It has peep sites and iron sites. (they are all iron iI suppose)The right barrel of the 16 ga. is full choke, the other is open. Action is fine. I'm told only to fire black powder thru the "shotgun" as it is Demascus steel. I can shoot any thing thru the .22 hornet....just clean it after every shoot....
I don't know that I would bet my life on it, but it wouldn't be first choice. The other bring back my grand pa gave me was a 8mm mauser carbine. I'd bet my life on that. It Goes Boom every timeI pull the trigger. It's accurate, and after 50 shots, my shoulder starts to bruise...The mauser action is unstoppable..... My Browning Belgium 20 ga. has never let me down.........but niether has my ruger P89...... |

12 gauge L.C. Smith with hammers, it can handle light field loads, but the forearm won't stay on. It was my great-granddaddy's shotgun.
.38 Colt Police Positive Special, it's out of time and the rifling is worn down. It was my other great-granddaddy's sidearm when he was mayor My great-aunt's .22 Short revolver, casings bulge for some reason, it was her pocket pistol. She kept it in a pocket of her duster or her purse for years and we never knew she was packing. Everything else will go through at least one magazine without failing. |

Tangfolio Witness 10mm. Its better now that I put in the stock recoil spring, but it still trys to insert a round or two at a 30* angle every other magazine.
20lb Wolffe springs are bad unless you have the UberMagSpringOfPeril to go in the magazine.When it works though, it flares up my wrists like no gun ever has, save for a 3" barreled .41mag. My wrist hurts just thinking of that thing snapping up. The weird part is that a G29 feels peachy in my hand, just like a 1911 (like it was crafted by God himself for my hand...). |

I've got a Romanian SKS that I wouldn't trust due to it have feeding issues and all my 22 LRs due to the caliber.

Guns I'ved owned that I would NOT bet my life on, let's see...
Ruger Mini-14 gets top billing (gee, what a surprise! ) with dishonorable mention going to:AP-9 Lee-Enfield chambered in .308 (failure to eject every single round it ever fired) Ruger 10/22 Taurus 94 Walther P38 AR 7 Marlin 60 This is just what I can remember off the top of my head. Now, I own 2 guns: an AR15, and a Glock 19; BOTH of these, I can depend on. |

I dont have anything I wouldnt trust my life on, even my 22's although they wouldnt be my first choice. If I buy a gun and it doesnt work, and after 2 or 3 attempts to make it work fail it gets sold no matter what it is.

A question mark means that the sentence preceeding it is interogative in nature. Many question marks can mean a sign of confusion or a more pressing desire to have the interogatee answer the interogator's question. Often a question of the latter style is followed by a statement such as ANSWER MY FUCKING QUESTION YOU GODDAMNED PINKO COMMIE SHITSTAIN!", followed by a vigorous slap. I think he meant the latter, and you being a moderator I think you should take great offense. |

I have an original Costa Mesa Armalite AR-7 that is unreliable as hell. I haven't found a magazine yet that it will feed from without a jam. If the day ever comes when I'm forced to bet my life on an AR-7, TS has definitely HTF. |

Guns I currently own that I wouldn't bet my life on: single-shot 22 rifle
Guns I HAVE owned that I wouldn't bet my life on: Frankenstein 1911 with an Essex frame and Remington/Rand slide that was poorly put together---major problems with the grip safety. Frankenstein CAR-15 with gas tube problems that would sometimes double. Smith and Wesson 4506 that had feeding issues, particularly with +P ammo. Kel Tec P11 9mm that I couldn't hit SHIT with even at point blank range due to its truly horrible trigger pull. Star 9mm Largo. Hard to find good ammo for it. Beretta Tomcat 32ACP that had major reliability problems. |

Used to have a FEG hi-power clone that would FTE at least once per mag. Even after a trip to a local 'smith and going back to KBI twice. Traded it last year on a Glock 19.
I have a Jennings .22 that's all over the place... sometimes FTF, sometimes doubles or triples. I was a broke college student, and wanted a cheap .22 for practice but didn't know better at the time. I'm saving it for when the local Communists do their next gun buy-back. I also have a Chinese Ithaca knock-off shotgun that will rather frequently FTF unless I pump it like I'm trying to jerk off an elephant. It's sitting in the safe because I can't find a buyer for the thing, and may just wind up going at the next buy-back as well. My Chinese SKS tends to choke on the second to last round when fitted with the 20 round fixed Chinese mag, but I'd trust it if I put the 5 round mag back in. |
