I'm considering a new scope for my 18" hbar .308 Panther. I've looked at variable and fixed zoom, different diameters and models, also considering mil-dot. At present, I'm torn between 10x or 10x+ for zoom. I want to shoot 200 - 600 yard steel plates. Not afraid to spend a few bucks, but don't want to go overboard like Zeis or Swarovski.

What say you, suggestions?

I have a Super Sniper on my DPMS .308 and I love it.  The last time I was at the range, I managed to punch out the bullseye of the target.  The fixed 10x is more then enough magnification for me.  It also is not as expensive an option as some other scopes.
