Your upload is about what I get on my cable modem with Cox@Home. My download has peaked at over 1 megaBYTE per second before for several seconds. That is over 10,000 megabits like what is shown on your test there. I'll take the test when I get home.

45Mbit DS3. I cheated, that's one of my servers.

It's not so nice at home.

We were going to get a gigabit line in... But they went ahead and got the 10Gb in.... FOR TEH WIN!!!

Now to find a worthwhile bit torrent client...

Im "trying" to get a box off in a corner with its own IP for a file server.

Wow.  My connection sucks!  I'm getting 463 kbps download and 116 upload.  And this is cable, not dialup.

For the first five years of my marriage, we had a T1 line at home ($12 per month courtesy of the University ) and we had our own dedicated T3 line at my office.    I miss those days.

The servers linked on the speakeasy page are the bottleneck, not my internet connection. Got any other suggestions for speed test sites?

This is what I get at home, because my wireless ISP insists on testing my patience. I pay for over twice that. I suffer through 30% packet loss. They claim there is no problem. I call them every single day, and for 30 days straight, they have promised to call me back with an update. And for 30 days straight, I have not been called back.

I'd drop them, but I have a contract and they KNOW I have no alternative, other than having a T1 brought out.

Drat! Foiled again. I am on my workstation at work, If I had access to the server, I have no Idea what it would be.  I work for the largest domain registrar, and one of the largest hosting companies.

Mine was from a server (Fedora Core 3 box) that an ISP has graciously allowed me to keep in their data center, free of charge. It's on a 45mbit DS3, though about 8mbit of that is consumed by their customers this time of day.

Man, I'm 322/310 on DSL.

That's about like my DSL at work.  Bastards should have never even sold us the service, but I'm glad they did.
