it all depends on how much money you want to spend. and what you are using the system for |

The best you'll get is an x800XT or a 6800GS. There might be a 7800GS, but it is a slim chance. |

Games. I just bought Call of Duty 2. Runs perfectly smooth at 1280x1024 under DirectX 7 rendering, but I want to take advantage of DirectX 9. My current GeForce FX 5600 Ultra isn't optimized for DX9 so it runs sloooooooow. |

i would get the most card you can afford.
newegg has great deals. you have plenty of ram. you just need a better video card. and your FPS will definatley increase |

X850XT is available in AGP 8X. It smokes all but the 7800s and I picked it up for $190 at MicroCenter. |

I just bought a new computer and was told PCI express is better then AGP. I do not know why but I remember AGP was the SHITZ to have. It is getting more confuseing to me. I got a NVida 6200Geforce Turbo and it seems to be ok |

New standard designed to replace AGP and eventually other cards as well (your PCI slots). Requires that you have a motherboard with a PCIE slot. AGP is still very popular since many don't want to upgrade their mobo just for a new video card. Performance increases between the two as of yet is essentially nil. But the new standard is capable of higher bandwidth and therefore more future proof. PCIE cards have recently dropped in price (new standards always come out more expensive until the market is shown as strong) and in some cases are cheaper than their AGP counterparts. AGP's still fine if you don't want to upgrade your motherboard, it's a rather popular way to go still. |

I got the EVGA GeForce 6800 XT from Tiger Direct for $150. It ROCKS. It handles BF2 easily (I played the demo and didn't like it, but it handled fine), it can handle Doom 3, Quake 4 and CoD2 with the settings almost all the way up (with resolution at 1280x1024 and antialiasing on 2x or 4x, the other settings can be all the way up and it's still very playable).
EDITED: Oh, this is a PCI-express card. I guess you couldn't use it. But find a card that is equivalent to the card I mentioned and you can't go wrong, unless you want to spend 3,000 rounds worth of money or something. It looks like the EVGA 6600 AGP is pretty close to mine, and it's cheaper. How much do you want to spend? |
