Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Need to learn up on "micro-fiber" couches

The wife it making me buy a new couch, and microfiber looks like the way to go.  I have 2 dogs an a baby on the way, stain and abrasion resistence are important factors.  Leather is not an option.  WHat do you guys think?

I have a microfiber, and it is quite easy to clean.  Mine is impossible to stain so far.  Very comfortable also.

Mom has one, and her 6 cats seem to find it very comfortable.  She opted for the extra stain proofing they offered her when she bought it (I think it's a big scam), and it hasn't had a single stain on it as of yet, 2 years later.
