Just a gun and some meat.

Before:

The Mauser is my grandfather's old hunting rifle that he sporterized when he was working as a gunsmith a long time ago.  He gave it to me when I turned 15.

During:  I got it just a little too done, it was still quite tasty.


I don't have any after pics since there was nothing to take a pic of.

Now I am hungry again.

Mounts on the scope look like those so the iron sights could still be used.  Friend of mine was given a rifle with the same mounts.

It's not so bad because of the raised comb on the Monte-Carlo stock.  Like another poster pointed out, those are "see-through" rings so that the iron sights can still be utilized.  The cheek weld could be better, though.

With the scope only being a fixed 4x, I don't really see the point in having those rings, but the rifle works well as-is so I'm leaving it alone.  

If I ever refinish it, like I have been thinking about, I will put standard rings on it.

I don't marinade my steaks.  If they are cooked right, they don't need it.  In my experience, only an overcooked steak needs marinade.

I ground the black pepper onto the steak, added some Hot Shot (50/50 black and red pepper), pressed the seasoning into the meat, and grilled.
