I'm not a big vodka drinker, but of the ones I've tried you can't beat Rain for the price and quality.

Buy a vegetatively derived mid-grade like Skyy or Tito's and a Brita filter.

Triple filter the vodka with the Brita.

Better than anything on the shelf at the liquor store.

cheapest you can buy, put through Brita filter and few times = good vodka.

Tried it.  It seemed to work (I don't like or dislike Vodka, so not the best judge).  Friends who like vodka swear by this method.

Everclear is paint stripper. I'd rather drink shine.

Kettel One isnt bad... and it is dirt cheap.

I would avoid the Brita water filter idea.  Lots of people run some vodka through it 3 or more times... at that point, you are just letting alcohol evaporate out of it.

"Mmm mmm!  This Vodka with half the alcohol sure does go down easy!"

That would make sense as to explaining why it got smoother!

3 Olive and Skyy are good for the price. I drank Grey Goose until the french started acting like assholes again. Kettle One is good also. None are a cheap as Smhinerioff (SP) or Boman's but in the Stolie price range I like Kettle One and 3 Olive.

Everclear is pure grain alcohol - it has absolutely no flavor other than that of alcohol. Judging by the Vodka ratings and antics posted here, that is exactly what makes good Vodka - a lack of flavor. If 90 proof is still to much for you, add more water!

Vodka is crap. If you want something with flavor, get a good gin, bourbon, scotch, tequila or rum - or just about anything that isn't clear!
