Crap. I can't even think what is a good title for this subject but I promised Mrs. Ramjet that I would give it a shot.
A few months ago, Mrs. Ramjet buys a pretty neat fur stole that is made from some (well, a lot of them) expensive mink. It's an antique, and the dummy who owned it put a six inch by three inch piece of masking tape (the paper type) on it with his scribble price. Noooooo, he couldn't use a little tag like everyone else, he used some masking tape.
Here's the problem.
We can't remove this masking tape. It's welded to the fur and I'm afraid that if I tug on it too much, I'll create a bald spot. We've tried water and warm air from the hairdryer without any success. I don't want to try any solvents (rubber cement thinner) since I don't want to ruin what looks like a fine garmet. I thought I'd take it to the local dry cleaners but they ruined one of my suits so I'm far from opitmistic that they can figure this out.
I thought I'd see what the ARFCOM collective intelegance network thinks since some of you have perserved animal skins and thought maybe someone had a solution on how to remove this tape without destroying the fur.
Help me out. It looks good on Mrs. Ramjet when she's naked.
