Isn't there a web address that has the serial numbers of preban Ruger rifles?
Anybody got it handy?

Thanks for the address.
I wanted to pick up a Mini-14 just to have but keep putting it off. Yesterday I was in a gunstore and they had a real nice one in stainless steel with a flash hider and a pistol grip stock for $499.
Well, I found a phone number for Ruger and gave them a call and they said it was made in Jan 1998.
In its current configuration it is an illegal assault weapon.
