 Have it in my DVD collection. Probably the most accurate wepons depiction and handling ever put in any animated film ever (right down to the correct brass hitting the floor in the right way) Also the best basement since Burt Gummer.  Cute chicks, a Shelby Mustang and LOTS of guns. What's not to like? |

That's what impressed me so much, was the accuracy in which the guns were drawn. They even show proper gun handling by the main characters. Keeping their fingers off the trigger when they should, etc. It was a bit improbable though when the ATF agent comes into the shop and says, " I see alot of Class 3 stuff without a Class 3 permit." And then cons them into helping with a sting operation. The ATF we know would be busting down the door and cuffing them!

one of my cousins had them on tape and watched it about 8 or 9 years ago and i liked it. i saw the show on one of the movie channels a couple years ago too... encore, i think.

Sonada stopped that stupid Cannon God Eaxxion and went back to drawing Gunsmith Cats!!!
SWEEET! But the originals are rather dated now... hope he knows enough to move them out of Chicago. When he started drawing them in 1990, it was still possible to have Rally's collection in that state. Now she would be a outlaw. Move her to Arizona!!! |

Gawd that brings back memories.
Having to drive up to San Luis Obispo on pay weekends to Games People Play. Getting my manga and going upstairs to read it in the bar at SLO Brewing Company... I collected the whole first series of Dark Horse- except for the "legendary" Vols 1 and 2. I thought 2.50 a issue was a outrageous sum- I never collected another manga again. I wait for them to come out in book form... Driving down to Santa Barbara to Diamond comics every couple months in 95/96 to collect the VHS tapes of the Anime. Meeting Kenichi Sonoda at AX96 in Anahime... Ahh the good ole days of the dawn of the Anime era... |

Its ten years older than Cowboy Beebop, they learned a lot about animation in that time- and introduced CGI And while Beebop is spectacular, and I like it very much, it does have a bit of the "John Woo School of Fantasy Gun Handling" |

Gunsmith Cats was one case though where limitations on technology and budget helped make a better product. IMHO. The one piddling little detail I can remember off hand in GSC is with the cars. In the chase scene on the highway in the last episode, the animators forgot that American cars already had safety glass by 1969- and the showed the Cobras windshield shattering like plate glass... |

I'm watching the Last Exile and Yukikaze right now. If you're a fan of stuff that flys and makes other stuff go boom you'll probably enjoy either.
Last exile has a more "Rocketeer" or golden age of flight feel to it. Yukikaze is all about sci-fi jets blowing shit up. Rather fantastically I might add. |

SLO Brew was great! Nothing like getting one of their cheap midweek dinner specials and a few pints Oh yeah, I'd have to argue that the dawn of anime was a little bit earlier than what you posted. When I was in jr high in the mid '80s, my group of friends (damn buncha nerds  ) and I would go to a monthly animation club meetings at Rusty's Pizza in Santa Barbara. The clubs name was something like CFO or CFOO. Nothing was subtitled, we only had a synopsis to go by  We'd also regularly attend anime dubbing sessions. I even spent a huge portion of the money I made delivering papers on a $500 vcr  I wish I could have put the money into something more worthwhile, like NFA or Microsoft stock.

I own Last Exile- started it on Net Flix, fell in love with it, bought the box set, and a copy of the Spheres plus artbook. Range Murita has really exceptional talent. Yukikaze, is on the list, but my que in Netfilx is already over 50 items! |

Sonada is obessed with guns, hense how pretty accurate it is (in the manga anyway). Best moment is in the first episode when Rally and May both give a middle finger to the guy whose blackmailing them as he's leaving

What influenced me to buy a CZ-75. Have had three over the years. Not as good as the Manga claims, but good pistols nonetheless.
Still have most of the Manga's in the shed. I should pull them out one day and reread them. Rally's charachter originated from Riding Bean. Anybody remember? She used to have blond hair. |

I thought this was the old SWAT Cats, where there were two cats who posed as car mechanics but were in reality super duper crime fighters who had their own Super Hornet
 .I never figured out what was so hot about Cowboy Bebop ... I watched the movie and was like "meh". I have also watched Disc 1 of the series and it's okay ... no Trigun or anything. |
