I know, those are lame. Sorry to say, though, that all mine were lost due to a tragic accident involving a midget, some Clorox, a shop vac, and a butane lighter. Horrible, just horrible.

Good read but I bet 100 % of the folks responding so far will not make a blaze of glory fight if the feds showed up tomorrow and asked for their guns to be handed in.
Its good that some will possibly fight it out in the first wave. I think it would be wiser to calculate what to do based on the first transgresion. Perhaps move to a better location and see what mistakes were made on both sides. Maybe move to a state where otehr like minded folk are and operate from there. In either case its a hard call until it happens. |

Those of us with an actual mindset towards freedom ought to have a "Freedom Shoot 2006" this summer or something. We could even all pitch in and get some land to do it on. Land is running for close to or under 300 dollars an acre along the mexican border right now. We could make noise and scare away illegals both at once.  -Ben |

Hypothetically speaking, the smartest way to prosecute a war against those who would want to deprive you of your weaponry would be to take decisive but discreet action against those in the field who would actually be doing the confiscating, and against their immediate superiors. You'd do it guerilla style,
without warning. Seemingly random sniper attacks directed at the local head honchos. I'd hope it would never come to that, but if it did, that'd be a better way to prosecute the war than the "go out in a blaze of glory" method. The guerilla sniper approach is the way to go. CJ |

Also hypothetically speaking, I agree to a large extent. It would require extensive planning, with many contengiency plans and backups for when those fail. But the only viable method would be coordinated raids/ambushs/eliminations. Everything would need to be done in a very covert/special forces fashion where individuals or small teams got in/arrived, accomplish their objective, and get out before they can be compromised. We couldn't afford to lose people fighting any other way. -Ben |

anybody who does stand up will both be beat down by brute force of the Governments hand, and by the media. They will be declared Right wing gun nuts, with connections to the KKK and other domestic terrorist organizations. They may even find child porn or drugs in your home, along with your "arsenal" of weapons and military grade armor piercing ammo. You of course will have bomb making material.

A point was made and needs to be responded to.
If the media were to demonize the actions of those fighting for their freedoms, then those media personalities responsible or in collusion with those responsible would have to be added to "the list". Assuming for a minor moment that the gummint has the capability to come to everybody's doorstep at the same time with overwhelming.... Wait a second, I've worked with and for a variety of gummint agencies over my many years and the concept that the gummint can actually put together an operation of that size is absolutely hilarious, and the idea that they could keep it secret is even more hilarious. So let's make the more rational assumption that 98% of us aren't going to be surprised by something like this. So why go out in a blaze of glory when you don't have to? How about getting arrested while unarmed and letting them try and find where your boat anchors really are. Oh that's right they can mount searches all over the country simultaneously uninhibited. Or maybe you won't be home. Yep. Planning for a blaze of glory is pretty damn stupid. Abandoning your family to poverty (or do you think life and home insurance will pay when you off yourself and burn down your house in a criminal act?) good planning there Bubba) to stroke your ego, yeah that's a brilliant idea. |

This is my promise to fight, however I do not think it will happen...remember, police are real people who have veiws and if guns were banned I am almost sure that they would not obey their orders to kill a civilian becasue he or she doenst want to give up their guns.

I also have worked for a couple of government agencys. Did you know the Dept. of Agriculture has a helluva Law Enforcement division? More then they should...And I think that the biggest threat is not them going out in mass to take peoples weapons. They will, as they have been, continue hanging us one by one. We either will hang together or seperately, but they would prefer to do it one or two at a time to keep attention away from us, and to make it easier to paint us as the bad guys. You really cannot afford to wait for them to come door to door, by then it is too late. -Ben |

Guys, all the little 22's and 7.62s are just toys... little noise makers. If a big dog comes he'll be riding in tanks and wearing body armour. These small arms don't mean squat. the iraqis aren't getting many kills with peashooters. They now use booby traps, land mines. Their little AK's are pretty worthless against our forces.
Enjoy having fun with the fantasy. But I don't believe for one second that private citizens would have a snowballs chance in hell of repelling a trained and equiped force. Talk to the folks at Waco TX or Ruby Ridge if you need a second opinion. Just keep telling your representatives that you vote pro-second amendment. they listen ocassionally as was recently proven with the expiration of the AWB. Your BEST weapon is the ballot box - VOTE Ok, go ahead and flame me.

The Afghans pretty much handed the Russians their asses with guerrilla tactics small arms . Your assumption rests on the fact that our military would follow orders to take arms against their own country . Something I seriously doubt would happen if there ever was a large uprising throughout the country . |

I am prior service USA, and I understand very well the capabilities of Armor, especially the CFV. The Iraqis don't do shit cause they are terrible shots. Don't get me wrong, body armor, especially the Interceptor, is great, but it IS overrated. And no one said anything about fighting the big dogs. I think everything mentioned in this threads hypothetical situation has been covert, done on our grounds and not in the instance of them coming on us first with overwhelming force. Even so, in the event of what has been described thus far, I would fight. I would expect to be killed more likely then not, but better that then to die later wishing I had been the one who refused to back down and had stood for freedom and principle. I know that there are far worse things then death. Maybe being a Hebrew/Jew puts me and the attitude I was raised with along a differant train of thought then yours though huh? If you don't stand with us, then go your seperate way in peace, and lets just forget you were ever called a friend. -Ben ETA: I am racking out now, I will deal with any other nay sayers in the morning.
