Looky here, sonny. You can diss the Rolling Stones all you wish, but the Beatles happen to be a good band who put out some good records. |

I fail to see the humor. In the past couple of years I have bought newly remastered CDs of quite a few of the titles listed here (most of which I already had on vinyl, BTW, and all without coaching from RS). When I saw this list, for purely academic purposes I made a point of listening critically to all the Beatles albums that made the top 50. They are extraordinary works, one and all, and unquestionably belong near the top of any such list, and especially in light of their period. While I’m not in complete agreement with how they’re ordered, I can’t say any of these albums -- at least the ones I’ve heard -- don’t belong on the list.
Maybe you’re miffed because they left out your favorites from Milli Vanilli and Twisted Sister? |

 After taking a quick look I can't believe I didn't see any Metallica, Megadeth, or Iron Maiden, they must not have anybody who grew up in the 80's on their staff. |

I need to tell myself not to get hung up on the rankings and just use the list as a whole.
I mean, Nevermind at 17, while Dark Side of the Moon is at 43. Public Enemy at 48? Are these "greatest" or "most influential?" |

I am thinking alot had to be based on influential... because there is alot of great stuff that should be in the top 150 ETA.. IMO greatest hits(and compilations) albums really should be in their own category OR if a song appears on the greatest hits and another album, they should only allow one of them. |

Despite it being from Rolling Stone
 , this is actually a pretty good list of pop of the last 40 years. I don't agree with the rankings, but taken as a group, there's some good stuff here.
