This has been my dream rifle since the first time I opened a of Small Arms of the World.

The scope is the original Zeiss 1.5x6-40, not serialed to the rifle but still the scope that goes with it, cheap rings(I have some BO ones that I plan on using)

Was so happy when it came in today, I was like a proud dad

That is a nice rifle! I may be thick but I've had a look at the Springfield Armory website and there's no mention of this rifle - can you provide a link to where I can get more details on the beast? Is it .308 or 7.92? And if you don't mind me asking, how much does one of these cost?

Only 360 were ever made, 90 went to Israel and the rest stayed in Germany, SA brought in around 60.

That is, if all the info in the thread is correct.

I put up a WTB ad on Strumgwer(sp), just to see if anyone had one that they wanted to get rid of and low and behold someone did, and then someone else emailed me that they had the original scope.

No more of these guns are available from SA that I know of, the last one I saw for sale on gunbroker went for 4500
