Fast cars, boats, guns, women, smoking.....

colin farrel is not cool.
Nor will this remake be cool. But, yes. Miami Vice was cool. |
I loves me some Miami Vice!!
Especially when Phillip Michael Thomas overacts!! Watching the show now where they are closing in on Calderone....I think they get him?? Ahhh, the memories of many a Friday night in front of the tube. |
I like the TV Miami Vice when it first aired on network TV. But many of the lbieral complained about the show being too violent and from there it just went down hill. All of these movie remakes by people who watched the show when they were younger, just doesn't capture the look and feel of the original TV show. I think one of the few TV shows to actually evolve into a sucessful movie(s) was Star Trek.

Fixed it for you....love the Izz man! |
The season two dvd set has the episode with Ted Nugent. Waaaay cool.
Miami Vice is truly bad ass! |
I remember when the soundtrack came out - everyone bought the cassette tape and drove around in the car with it blasting pretending they were crocket or tubbs. I can't think of another soundtrack that has had that kind of effect on people.

I did for halloween once, but my masculinity clashed with the gheyness in the clothing causing it to spontaneously combust. |
Remake? Nevermind, don't tell me. I don't think I wanna know. |
So what you are saying is that you were flaming |

Who had the "Miami Device" stubble length razor? |
I did, and I still wear my Rayban Wayfarers. |
Great show. the movie will suck. What's next? Magnum PI the movie starring Toby McGuire as Magnum and Jack Black as Higgens?
+1 |
good one |
You were, what, two years old when that show started? |
I'm watching the episode where the city takes his Daytona right now
I was too young to dress up like Crockett, but my brother look like a dork in his high school senior pictures.
The Blue Hugo Boss Jacket was around $350.00 back in 1985 |
Used to watch every Friday night, the opening credits were the best. The two girls at the end walking down the street in bikinis was the best part I caught an episode the other day on TV, Crocket smoking those non-filter cigs in every damn scene was very cool for some reason.
I remember not going out or taking calls the night that Miami Vice was on...
Its been awhile but I thought it got blown up? |
No, the city took it to sell it off, The episode is "Whatever Works" I asked Steyr about that episode the other night, I cant remember what season that was |
That one girl had a fat ass I watched an episode recently where Crockett was buying smokes out of a cig machine and the price was $1.25 |
Miami Vice and Simon and Simon on thursday nights. 80's had some good shows back then.
That alone is enough to make a man cry isnt it |
High school. |
I picked mine up Monday at Best Buy .........$39.99 |
Right before Christmas. Bears about as much resemblance to the city in the show as horseshit does to roast beef. |
Check this out...the paragraph by the Testarossa...I though I was going crazy for a minute www.ferrariclub.com/faq/miamivice.html I looked up the "Whatever Works" episode and the Daytona did get repossessed....temporarily I guess..your original post didn't say permanently so technically we are both right |
Did the Daytona really have that ugly plexiglass panel over it's lights, and bolted on like that?
you know that was a replica Daytona anyway right |
In the movie the show was set in Miami, but in reality it was in North Miami.
Yes, but I expected they would have done a better job! |
Negative. I've recognized places from Miami Beach all the way down to South Miami. They really love Brickell Avenue (just south of Downtown), South Miami Avenue (a block west of Brickell), and the whole Miami Beach area (Collins Ave. and such). They also use a lot of the causeways that go from the mainland to the islands. |
Izzy was cool, but da NOOG MAN was the shit! |
The MV movie they are making now Crockett is going to be carrying this:
http://img160.echo.cx/img160/3706/immopene3503504vm.jpg Tubbs will be carrying a 1911 .45 S&W I believe. He is also shooting a 12 guage M-4 semi-auto Benelli with a collapsible stock. |
(at all of you) |
Don't say that. DON'T SAY SUCH THINGS. |
Did it ever occur to you guys that all the drug dealers shooting machine guns in Miami Vice, with all the glorification of the outlaw life and its fabulous wealth might have something to do with the public perceptions that fostered the ban on "assault weapons?"
Nope, I think it was Patrick Purdy and a few others that did that. |
