1935 is long ago as far as our knowledge of ancient civilizations. Do yourself  a favor and go to your local bookstore or library and get something more up to date.Or just surf the net.

Have there been much change in what is known about ancient history in the last 70 years or so?

I'm getting ready to read a pretty involved book on ancient civilizations, but it was written in 1935.  Does that sort of thing really ever get out of date?

Its probably actually better, alot of revisionist history going on in history books.

I only read history books cant stand fiction.

Well, recently its been discovered that every great  historical figure that lived in Africa, near Africa, around the vicinity of Africa, in or around the equator and/or before the year 350 BC any where on Earth  was actually black, regardless of how they portrayed themselves or of the contemprary historical record.  To say otherwise is blatant racism.

Scientists  working with the human genome have concluded that the differences between what we call the races are in fact too insignificant from a genetic perspective to attribute them to a unique race. We are one race, with some geographic and cultural distinctions.  Worldwide distributions of hair characteristics, body characteristics, skin color, etc. are not unique to a degree that can genetically be  indicators of a separate race. Therefore, race is a myth. Racism is in fact culturalism and geographicism based upon  a perception of differences that are in reality insignificant variations within the same shared race.
