I hate Ebay as much if not more than anyone.

Best way to beat them is to buy GUNS w/ all the profit I make from selling Ebay items

So, you guys determine the internet businesses you patronize based on their friendlyness / activeness in the RKBA community?

+1 My last 3 guns have been funded by selling my extra stuff on ebay. Number 4 is in progress now.

Think I just got burned there.  Luckily for me just over a  twenty dollar auction.

The seller had good feedback too.

all gun issues asside...

Ebay is GREAT!!!

I've been buying/selling on Ebay for several years and have made 10s of thousands of dollars in very simple transactions.  I look for exceptional buys for a certain commodity or item (not on ebay), then I turn around and flip them.  It's fast and easy.  I'm about to collect around $500 for clothes that I would have just given to Goowill in the past.  People will buy anything you sell.  There is a market for EVERTHING.

I have a potential buyer wanting to buy my item outside ebay.
Any experience w/ this?
Is this legit?

Do not let Ebay know you are doing it.

Do not consumate the deal via e-mails ( use the phone ).

Easy way to save on the Ebay fees and still sell your item = more profit for you

I do it all the time as long as the buyer makes things fast & smooth.

Get caught be Ebay doing it ( it's called circumventing fees / sales outside Ebay ) and they can suspend your account / boot your ass off Ebay.
