I am not convinced that anything really happens if you call the postal service with a fraud complaint related to a money order.
I would be wary but talk to the guy on the phone and get his home and work contact info. |

My 2nd post (and only been a member for 12 days) was on the EE. Sold an Upper FTF with a new Member.
If the person gives you good quality pictures, and you discuss all terms up front, and establish good communication, why not? Everyone has to start somewhere. Have it go through an escrow if you aren't sure. |

Exactly. Post count doesn't always tell the story. I think the thought of someone with a high post count comes to mind here. There are honest people out there. Call them and talk to them. If someone is an ass on the phone, no way. |

That section refers to forging money order, stealing them from the post office and stuff like that, it doesn't have anything to do with receiving a money order and not sending someone the stuff it was for. |

Yes, but I'd protect myself.
Start by getting a phone number and calling the guy up. See if he sounds shady. Check sites like zabbasearch and see if the address he gives you matches his name. It helps to know someone in the same town or nearby. Offer to have a friend go pick up the item and ship it for you/deliver payment. Do you know anyone from the board who lives nearby who could do this for you (and who you trust)? Pay using your credit card if you can so that if you get shafted you can retract the charges. |

There are 6 specific things listed. "intent to defraud" qualifies for our purpose.
