CDC cannot show that gun control has decreased crime.
Criminals buy guns off the streets, not gun shops. Most states are passing CCW. just a few of the highlights. |

Almost all the data collected by the CDC is cumulitave. Meaning ALL shootings including LEO involved shoots, suicide, murder and self-defense are loaded into the database. I don't know but I would suspect that LEO shoots would be considered self defense. <shrug> It would be interesting to see the breakdown though. |

Speaking of doing the polar bear....coldest swim ever was 32 degrees in the meltwater pool of a glacier at 13,000 feet above Simplon Pass, Switzerland, on a dare. Lasted about 2.5 minutes...an eternity treading water while stuttering 't-t-t-t-take the bl-bl-bloody ph-ph-photo gr-graph you i-i-nimcompoop!
 Also witnessed Swiss helos delivering what looked like boxes of provisions to fixed positions on the side of apparently sheer clifts... the Swiss are still well armed- insanely well armed... come TEOTWAWKI, they will be OK 1, 2, maybe 3 years post event, eating fresh bread, eating cheese and drinking fine wines while the rest of EU implodes in 3rd world savagery. |

The FBI has police shootings and non-police self-defense shooting stats in their UCR each year, if you want the raw numbers.
Stossel's book is good too, although brief and light on details. Basically the rest of broadcast "journalists" don't like him anymore... |

It could not document that these rules have reduced violent crime. The government wants to say regulations and laws like the Brady Gun Control Law are making a difference, but they aren't. A Justice Department study confirmed what the prisoners said. But get this: the felons say that the thing they fear the most is not the police, not time in prison, but, you, another American who might be armed. It's a reason many states are passing gun un-control. They're allowing citizens to carry guns with them, it's called concealed carry or right to carry. Some women say they're comforted by these laws. But many people, including Rev. Al Sharpton, are horrified at the idea of concealed carry laws, and predict mayhem if all states adopt these laws. ABC Stossel's messabe board This is fun stuff. I like the comment where an anti gunner is challenged to place a sign in front of their home proclaiming it as a "GUN FREE HOME" LOL Anti Gunners are getting smacked. We have "Protected by S&W, COLT, GLOCK..." I've get to see a "GUN FREE HOME" posted anywhere. The ABC forum appears to be a good soap box for our cause.
