I'm not trying to be tacticool, I just want a nice pair of black cargo pants that stay black after being washed several times - not ones that turn an ugly shade of muddy gray / black.

Usuage will be dress / casual - not conducting airsoft drills.  I just want them to look nice, be comfortable, and last a long time.

ok, but what are some good brands?

I'm looking online for cargo pants, and I'm only finding either khakhis, or black BDU style pants.

go to rei, they have the zip offs... they turn in to shorts. they are synthetic so the color wont wash out as quick. they are about all i wear.

be right back with a link

edit, apparently they dont list the black ones online, but i have black, kyaki ( sp ? ) and the dark green. here is a link to some for 30 bucks.

Black it not a true color, but a mixture of three colors that make black, their is no industry standard for black. Best thing to do is wash in cold water, but it will still bleed.

5.11 pants hold there black about as best as any pant I've ever owned, Cleatus.

Get Proppers or 5.11's
For cleaning, Turn them inside out and wash in cold water with Woolite

Glad to see folks are finally trying to rid the site of that stupid saying.

I like Anchor Blue pants, but you may not have an AB store locally. And I have no experience with their black khakis... so lot of help I am.

+1 for the Proppers, I wear mine once a week since 2001, still got color, the grey ones even cleaned up well after having old oil all over them.

I still gotta get some 5.11s
