If you're inclined to help me out here, would you mind making a GIF out of the following JPG? I'd like the Enterprise to travel through the bar, and would really like to have the red lines show up only behind it as it goes.

Suggestion: have the enterprise go completely out of frame before starting over, so it doesn't "Jump" from right to left. Looks GREAT! |

Adobe image ready for some reason it was already on my computer.. what other ones are there that might be a little more user friendly |

Macromedia Flash, export as .gif, (Also macromedia fireworks) Cheaper but useful: ULead Gif Animation Studio I like the "speed up to warp" effect on the first one, change the timing on the last one to have the two speeds where it goes completely out of frame. The 3rd one down has a bit of red bar moving in front of it, would be kinda cool to have it "fire the photon beam" as it goes, a streak from the bottom of the dish shooting forward fast... (just an idea, it looked kinda neat from what might have been an "editing error") |

Best tutorials are getting some animated .gifs and see how they are put together frame by frame. It doesn't take a whole bunch of work to make it look good, suprisingly. Tweening (morphing), "page turn", "cube" and other built in functinos of the software should let you make snappy animations with 2 or 3 images to rotate/turn in and out/page flip. Below are some I have done with tweening/turning/screencaps from HEAT.       |

Learn by experiment also, sometimes it is easier with a "project" in mind. SPECTRE posted above he wants these guys walking slowly. Try it out!

Photoshop to prepare frames, then either Flash or ULead .gif animaion studio for the turning pages/blocks. Ulead is the easiest for quick ones, once you design the images to be tweened/turned in photoshop. |

he ask me last night and i came up with  that was from frame capture from the movie. but i want to try and make this one to walk but with out having any other frames.my pfotoshop skills suck.

That is a decent one from the movie! For the single frame, just copy it across 10 frames. Then export the frames into photoshop, arrange them 1-10, then use the rubber stamp to move the legs slightly between each frame, and the eraser to get rid of where the leg moved from. Once you have the 10 done and saved, put into animation program and animate. You might need to go with 5-8 frames to make it under 12KB for the avatar size limit. I haven't used jasc program, but if it has an image editor built in, you can use it. Just make the avatar frame 1, then copy frame 1 across the next 7, then edit the next frames in the software if it will do it, rather than going out to photoshop. |
