I actually said this on Christmas Eve to my Grandfather, after he and I had a few shots.

"There is no handgun like a 1911 and John Moses Browning is it's prophet."

So much hate towards the best handgun ever designed....

All fo my 1911 pistols have been fed thousands of rounds without cleaning (which seems to be the test for Glocks if I read this site correctly) and ahve ahd no failures.

The one glock I owned (out of the 4 I have fired, all jammed, shortstroked, or otherwsie got pissy) with less than 3K rounds through it in one shootign trip started to misfeed badly, I doubt overheatign ahd anythign to do with it, I was using 10 rounds magazines.

Not that it matters, Glock vs. 1911 will always be a heated debate, just like the guys who go Dodge vs. toyota, The American side is right, the others wrong, but they just refuse to realize that

People that are into antiques always argue that their old shit is better.  They refuse to believe that sometimes change can be good.

I didn't know JMB invented front-strap checkering, combat night-sights, target-triggers, skeleton hammers, extended ambidextrious thumb-safetys, beaver-tail grip safetys, mag-well funnels or front cocking serrations

St. Kaboom is a minor Saint,  who's works are vastly exaggerated compared to her real accomplishments.

Why? Things would be boring. Besides, the Glockophiles are wrong, and they know it, they just won't admit it.

I have a SA 1911 TRP Operator that has only had problems with some crappy magazines (used metalform and unmarked USGI) failing to lock the slide back. It works great with my Wilson and CMC mags. Coincidentally the only problem I ever had with my HK USP .45 Tactical was... weak crappy factory mags failing to lockback the slide. Don't get me wrong, I loved my USP, but I just shoot the 1911 better (better than any other pistol I've ever shot) and it has been flawless using CMC and Wilson mags.

No way man, reliable 1911s like ours (and 95% of the rest) don't exist

Heresy! God presented the design of the 1911 to John Moses, and it was good.

I still stand by my assertion that US designed firearms (and some Canuck ones) are always better than foreign competition
