Local news just reported ATF has arrested 4 men in connection with the recent theft of 400 lbs of C-4, det cord and detonators from a remote storage area.
It will be interesting to see if these guys have any terrorist connections.
I'll try to update this after a press conference in 30 minutes.
ETA... well, channel 4 kept running this story on the bottom of the TV, saying an ATF news conference with more details would air at 8pm local time.
It's now 8:20pm, and despite my continuous searching, not a damn bit of related news on ANY local station or Internet site.
Maybe at 10pm. I'll keep checking.
UPDATE: 10pm local. Not much of an announcement, but here's what was conveyed on the local news...
ATF has arrested four men, and a fifth person was still being sought. The explosives have been recovered, but they did not say if ALL of them were recovered. One suspect was caught in Bloomfield, NM. Their preliminary guess is that this theft was not terrorist related.
Brothers, Leslie Brown, 44, of Ignacio, Colo., and David Brown, 49, of Bloomfield, face federal charges including possession of stolen explosives and felons in possession of stolen explosives.
I suspect the lack of details is because they are still seeking a suspect.
Keep in mind this is New Mexico, cleaner than Old Mexico, but not a hell of a lot better when it comes to news reporting.
