We have this goofy chick in payroll that said the money from this week and next week is on '06, it goes on when they pay not when it was earned.

I guess I never paid any attention to it, but know I wouldnt trust her with an ice cream cone.....

I know we have some payroll gurus here who will know the correct (IRS) answer.

When I had my own business, taxes were paid based on payroll date, not when the work was done. However, I always paid the last payroll on 31 December, so I didn't carry anything over year-to-year. Your earnings are based on when you get paid.

It goes according to the accounting calendar you have setup, last year my company had payroll that went into 05, this is the first year in a while that the pay periods ended in the fiscal year.
