In the military we were led to believe that Motrin would fix any problem you could possibly had.

Headache = Motrin

Broken Leg = Motrin

Ebola infection = Motrin

The Navy gave me Percodan when they took my impacted wisdom teeth.  They came out on a Friday and I went back to work on Monday.

I had a tooth repaired the other day.  It started throbbing about this time of the night.  I took two Vicodins as per the label.

Holy shit.  I'll never do that again....

about 11:00 PM you call the dentist and tell them the pain pills are not helping. He will call you in a prescrption for the ones that will make the pain go away

They had to crush mine to get them out since they were in there sideways. Add a disgruntled Navy oral surgeon to the mix and it wasn't a gentle experience. Wish I had still been stationed next to the Air Force base for that one (Air Force medical and dental facilities are #1 in my book).

Only four teeth?

I've had six wisdom removed. Four teeth when I was 15 & two more when I was 28 years old (mom had five).

p.s. Feel better soon!

My dentist pulled two on one side first. He said so I could still eat on the other side of my mouth without any problems. Then a few months later I went back and had the other two removed. He was a great guy. They don't make dentists like that anymore. Now they want quick bucks in one visit so pull all four.

Not a fair characterization.

The recovery is the same for one side or both, and you only will have to be on pain meds and antibiotics once, not twice.  Also, down time from work, school etc is less.  There is an honestly good medical perspective to minimize exposure to antibiotics as much as possible.

Also, the money is the exact same, as the insurance companies pay for one exam and radiographs, and the surgery is reimbursed based on CPT/ CDT code.  This is true for any bilateral surgery from the mouth to the feet

+1, my guy is very good, and the 4 at once was my idea, as I wanted to get it over with and not have to repeat. he was willing to do 2 at a time, and left it up to me to decide. I could have done the general anesthetic , but I would have had to have gone to the dental surgeon. He did mention to me that I have very strong, well rooted teeth, and judging from the force required to pull them, I guess he was right...   he's not a wimpy guy, and he was sweating from the strain. It took about 1.25 hours all told, and now that it's done I'm glad that I don't have to do that again.

I did mine before insurance companies made the cost analysis changes.

I didn’t need antibiotics either. My dentist’s office was clean

Hang in there dude I had mine done at Sierra Army Depot years ago( many Tylenol#3's SUCKED!) for the after effects.

The worst of it's been done and multi.dose your meds.

I got all 4 wisdom teeth taken out in law school.  Only 2 were impacted but they said might as well yank em all.

They gave me Tylenol with codeine.  After taking that stuff, I now know how people get addicted to drugs.  It felt like I was floating above my bed.  Powerful stuff.

I had that done.

Havent you heard? Wisdom Teeth are like Heat Sinks.  Wisdom migrates to them and is rejected into the atmosphere from there.  They do not contain wisdom.

so you're using the holes to store emergency food?

btw, as long as I don't let the meds wear off, I'm fine... but chasing pain sucks.
