Two Officers Shot, Another Turns Self In

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore County police said a Department of General Services police officer allegedly shot and killed two Baltimore City police officers shortly after noon on Wednesday.

The shooting occurred on 3900 block of M'Ladies Court in Randallstown near Old Court Middle School. Police spokesman Bill Toohey said a male police officer and a female police officer were found dead inside the townhouse. WBAL-TV 11 News reporter John Sherman reported the male officer is the homeowner.

Toohey said the suspect turned himself in to the Woodlawn Precinct around 2 p.m. Toohey said the suspect and the victims did know each other and it was not a random crime.

WBAL-TV 11 News I-Team lead investigative reporter Jayne Miller reported a Baltimore City police commander identified the deceased officers as Adam Vasquez and Leslie Holliday. Sources told 11 News a majority of the shots fired were targeted at Holliday.

Miller said police are investigating the double shooting as a domestic incident. Sources said the two deceased officers were involved in a romantic relationship. The suspect's connection to the two remains unclear.

Crime scene investigators said tires on Holliday's car were slashed and a note found inside read, "I knew you would do this again."

The vehicle that authorities believe the suspect used flee the scene and a weapon have been discovered in Baltimore's Cherry Hill neighborhood. Toohey said it was unclear if the recovered weapon was the service revolver of the DGS officer.

According to the state Web site, DGS police officers and security officers offer around-the-clock security for the Annapolis and Baltimore State Office Centers. Miller reported the suspect had served as an officer with the Baltimore City Housing Authority Police Department before joining DGS.

Miller said Holliday has served on the city force since last year and is the mother of three children. The children were with their grandmother at the time of the shootings. Vasquez has served on the force since 2001. Both were assigned to the department's Northwest District.

Man Is Stabbed to Death Outside San Clemente Bar

A 29-year-old man was killed in San Clemente late Wednesday after an argument with a man he met in a bar, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Jason Robinson and Jose Elias Sandoval Jr., both of San Clemente, got into an argument inside the Beach Hut, in the 1500 block of El Camino Real, said Jim Amormino, a sheriff's spokesman.

When Robinson went outside to smoke about 11 p.m., Sandoval, also 29, stabbed him several times with a 6-inch hunting knife and fled, Amormino said.

About 2 1/2 hours later, sheriff's deputies spotted a man who matched Sandoval's description in the 100 block of Avenida Florencia, Amormino said. They took him back to the bar, where witnesses identified him as the man who had stabbed Robinson, he said.

Investigators said the men didn't know each other and that they didn't know what prompted the altercation.

Sandoval is being held at Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder. Bail has been set at $1 million.
